HOTEL SAN DIEGO

We've stayed here many times first because it's close to everything you need, excellent veiw, staff is friendly and helpful, clean rooms, clean restrooms, hot and cold water, elevator. The hotel restaurant serves a little of everything, Italian, Mexican, Seaford. You can choose to sit at a balcony while you eat and enjoy the scenery. I love it! The only thing I'm still waiting for is for them to upgrade to air-conditioned rooms. They have been using fans since I've been going here. Weather is now changing and air-conditioned rooms are needed. If this doesn't happen, I will have to stay at another hotel where they do have air-conditioned rooms.

We stayed here for four days. The hotel is iconic and seen in many tourism videos of Guanajuato. The location is perfect for walking anywhere in Centro Historico. The rooms are spacious and room service made our room daily. Our room was spectacularly located on the corner top floor with two balconies. We couldn't have requested a better view or more wonderful memories.

It is a great hotel to stay in if you are interested in a good location. Centric, nice staff, and good views from a common area. However rooms are very old, furniture has seen better days. On the plus side, there were fans on the rooms (since it gets pretty hot), and they were very clean. Would not recommend if traveling with kids that are used to A/C.

If you every travel to Mexico and don't speak Spanish most places are bi-ligual. We stayed at this hotel located at center of city, great service, perfect view & weather, spacious room, walking distance to street food stands, markets, bars and museums. They offer city tours, we took one of their tours but we took couple self guided tours. Everything is walking distances. Around the town shopping is easy and safe, they city also have couple money exchange banks. Safe place to vacation day and night. We're likely the first Belizeans to sleep at this hotel, we wanted to stay longer. Highly recommend staying at this hotel and town.

We only came here to eat but it was an impeccable experience. The service was flawless and the food delicious. Only criticism is that they forgot our reservation which was a littlebit bothersome, but they did end up giving us a table in the end. Can definelty reccomend.

If you want to be in the center of entertainment stay here. I don’t recommend it If you want peace and quiet. The mornings are peaceful but by 5:00 the party starts and keeps going until 3 am. It’s not too bad if it’s cool enough to close your doors and turn on the fan. The location is great. We could walk to many restaurants, shopping and galleries. I recommend a king size room with 2 or 3 balconies. Otherwise it was a very small room. We were on the corner with 2 balconies. The view was fantastic and we had fun people watching. We could even watch the mini plays from our balcony that the theater put on every evening. The reception staff and housekeeping are very friendly. I especially liked Oscar. For an additional charge they will pick you up at the airport.

Great location, rooms very clean and updated. If you want to go to sleep early, get a room in the back and sacrifice a beautiful view of the plaza, if you want to enjoy the view, beware of the late night festive atmosphere, aka, noise. Beautiful balconies. Safe area, losts of places to eat.

This hotel is lovely. In the middle of everything. The location of this hotel is key. It was clean and noise free. We had no issues with noise (my in laws snored louder than the street noise tbh). If you like corn on the cob there is a lady that posts up right outside the hotel. Her mexican elotes are to die for!

Beautiful hotel and in the best location in town. The estudiantina guys were right in front of our hotel, the basilica church, the pipila tramway and the bus tours were all at walking distance and we were across the street from the teatro juarez. The hotel itself was extreamely clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.

An absolute gem located in the centro of Guanajuato city. We enjoyed every second of our stay here and the customer service was excellent. The hotel was very central and has quick access to dining and the funicular cable car as well. Please note the hotel does not have heat or AC which could bother some during peak season, we had no issues. Our balcony was beautiful and overlooked the busy parque. Take advantage of callejoneada tour located right outside the hotel doors at night. We didn’t not try the hotels restaurant (too many other options nearby with nicer Terrazas) but good to know it’s close for easy dining. Call the hotel in advance and they can give you the address to the hotel parking area if you have a car during your stay. You will drop off your bags there and be escorted to another parking garage nearby where you can leave your car long term. The walk back to the hotel is easy and short. Saves having to drag your luggage up/down tons of stairs! 10/10. Will be back soon!
